When I started with the Monarchs, I had noticed a missed opportunity with their social media accounts. They were inactive and no one realized the potential in revamping the team’s social strategy. I ended up taking full creative control with the goal of raising engagement and followers.
I was also in charge of doing a complete analysis of our followers on all platforms to create and adapt our content to reflect the followers' interests.
Twitter: @monarchshockey (+1,253 followers, increased engagement by 700%)
Instagram: @monarchshockey (+1,210 followers)

One of my approaches to social media is humor. I believe it allows for a successful brand personality to foster a stronger connection with followers. That it what i focused on for the Monarchs social media because it was an element that resonated strongly with our fans. I also believe interaction with the fans was key. I always tried to respond with a witty gif or comment as well as making the players/behind the scenes more accessible. Our fan base thought of the players as family and it was important for them to feel that virtually as well.
