I started as a digital content intern for the Chicago Blackhawks right out of college for the 2019-20 season. Diving in, I immediately took over specific webpages and became proficient in the backend of the website. I also took advantage of having access to top-notch departments within the organization and have expanded my knowledge on video production, social media, and photography.
During my time, TikTok was growing and the Blackhawks were looking to expand their presence on the app. I did a full audit of the platform itself along with the team’s social demographics. From there, I created content to maximize engagement, utilize trends, and create consistency. As a result, the Blackhawks were at the top of leaderboard of NHL teams for engagement and ranked amongst the top teams that successfully integrated the platform into their social strategy.
As a digital content intern my responsibilities included:
•Assisted content team with daily tasks such as conceptualizing content ideas, writing, editing, page building and website management. Includes practice and game coverage, blog posts and web features
•Helped social media and video team by attending video shoots and community events to help with multimedia coverage of team activities and events for various platforms
•Produced marketing and sponsorship copy for social, web and e-news
•Planned, built, tracked and sent email campaigns
•Created content for social media
